The IANA Political Action Committee is a voluntary, non-partisan fund designed to support issues in Illinois related to the Nurse Anesthesia profession, practice, and education. We work to advance the profession of Nurse Anesthesia through political advocacy and ensure CRNAs have access to the Illinois General Assembly.

Millions of Americans rely on CRNAs for their anesthesia care, especially pregnant women, active duty military and veterans, the elderly, and those in rural or under-served communities.

 

CRNAs Improve Access to Care

  • CRNAs are the predominant providers of anesthesia in 82% of the counties in Illinois.
  • 48 counties in Illinois have no providers registered. 
  • 74% of these counties are surrounded by counties predominantly covered by CRNAs for access to anesthesia care.
  • CRNAs are the only providers of anesthesia in 25% of counties in Illinois.
